This feature-length documentary blends Elton John’s final U.S. performances with an intimate look at the early years that shaped his legendary career.

We created all on-screen titles for the film—including location cards, timeline transitions, and narrative titles that provide historical context and guide the viewer through the story. The typographic system was designed to feel both elegant and expressive—anchored by large, bright pink city titles and bold year markers that announce key shifts in time and place with confidence and clarity.

Throughout the documentary, we animated pages from Elton’s personal diary, letting his handwritten words unfold onscreen. We also integrated period newspaper headlines into layered archival compositions to reflect the public’s response as his fame skyrocketed.

We worked closely with a London-based archival team to source the best possible versions of every photo in the film, ensuring visual clarity while preserving the texture and authenticity of the original materials.

In addition, we managed the production of several key animation sequences created by the incredibly talented team at Sun Creature—collaborating from early concept through final delivery to ensure visual cohesion across the film.

Additional animator: Graham Clark
