After several years of focusing on titles and graphics for documentaries, Smith & Lee returned to narrative film titles with the main-on-end sequence for Saturday Night—our ninth collaboration with Jason Reitman since 2005’s Thank You for Smoking.

Inspired by the 1975 SNL title sequence, the design brings an authenticity to the film’s tribute to live television’s landmark debut. Featuring cast photos, each black-and-white image is hand-tinted with vibrant colors, capturing Edie Baskin’s iconic style with a modern edge and the raw aesthetic of SNL’s first season.
